Step 1: Verify Eligibility
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Physically able
- High School diploma/GED
- High School algebra or equivalent
- Scheig Utility worker aptitude test
Step 2: Apply

- Provide copy of DD-214 and proof of education and age
- Complete interview

* Veterans may qualify for direct entry and immediate placement in ranked pool of eligible applicants
Applicant Pool

- Ranked based on interview
- Offered employment based on rank order
Step 3: Start
Apprenticeship
- 4,000 hours / 2 years on-the-job training
- Minimum of 200 hours of education each year through one of the CITC Training Facilities or through a local college
Wages
- Start at 55% of current journeyperson’s rate.
- Gain 5-10% pay increase after every 900 hours of on-the-job training (approx. 6 months) plus required schooling.
- Full 100% journeyperson’s pay after completing the program.

Region 1: Western WA $19.29
Region 2: Eastern WA $16.96
Region 3: Southern WA $19.29
