Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Physically able
- High School diploma/GED
- High School algebra or equivalent
- Scheig Utility worker aptitude test
Step 2: Apply

- Complete interview

- Offered employment based on rank order
Step 3: Start
Apprenticeship
- 4,800 hours / 2 years on-the-job training
- Minimum of 200 hours of education each year through training facility or college
Wages
- Start at 50% of current journeyperson’s rate.
- Gain 5-15% pay increase after every 800 hours of on-the-job training (approx. 6 months) plus required schooling.
- Full 100% journeyperson’s pay after completing the program.

Region 1A: Western WA $16.39
Region 1B: Western WA $15.0
Region 2: Eastern WA $13.50
Region 3: Southern WA $13.79
Region 4: Central WA $13.50
