Complete interview
- Selection is based on work history, demonstrated learning ability, and prior schooling or experience
*If no employees respond to apprenticeship offer, the position will be opened to the public and posted online.
Step 3: Begin Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship
- 8000 hours / 4 years on-the-job training
- Minimum of 144 hours of education each year through online and classroom training
Wages
- Start at 86% of current Journey-Level rate.
- Gain 1% pay increase after every 500 hours of on-the-job training (approx. 3 months) plus required schooling.
- Full 100% journeyperson’s pay after completing the program.

Interfor
Step 1: Verify Eligibility
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Physically able, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Pass aptitude assessment
- Minimum of one year (2000 hours) of active service with Interfor
- Must be able to work any shift and variable shifts.
- Able to obtain Passport to attend training in Canada
Step 2: Apply
* Apprenticeship program is available for Interfor maintenance and production employees
- Gain employment and complete one year of active service with Interfor
- Contact Mill Manager or Human Resources representative to apply for apprenticeship
- Attend Apprenticeship Program Information Session
- Complete Work Keys Assessment
- Performance review of work, safety, and attendance
- Complete Interview
Step 3: Begin Apprenticeship
Wages
- Start at 70% of current journeyperson’s rate.
- Gain 10-13% pay increase after every 3,000 hours of on-the-job training (approx. 18 months) plus required schooling.
- Full 100% journeyperson’s pay after completing the program.
